Workshop Announcement: "Prepared Piano, Feedback, and Live Electronics: A Space for Collective Improvisation" on October 19, 2026

© Via Prisma: Resonance and Opacities
This workshop brings together two areas of sound research: advanced piano preparation techniques using feedback loops and improvisation strategies, and live electronics. Participants will work together to explore various preparation techniques as well as the possibilities offered by the live electronics system, and will try them out in an experimental performance. Everyone can decide for themselves how they’d like to participate—whether by playing, listening, observing, or simply by occupying the space of the gathering. The workshop is open to composers, improvisers, artists, and anyone interested in live processing, mixed media, experimental music, and noise. The workshop will be led by Gabriel Dargains and Pitter Rocha, doctoral candidates at PPGM/UNIRIO.
