The Systematic Musicology team conducts research on 20th- and 21st-century music, with a particular focus on computer music, mixed music, and music technology, as well as their archiving. One notable research project is the Lullabyte doctoral network, which examines the effects of music on the brain during the transition to sleep and while sleeping. The research often centers on questions situated within an interdisciplinary context, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches in systematic musicology with computational methods and debates in cultural studies.
