New Publication: Forschen und Lehren in der Historischen Musikwissenschaft

Those who work in the field of historical musicology experience, create, and facilitate encounters—with music and its context, with composers, and with performers. This international volume brings together essays on topics explored by Michael Stegemann, a long-time musicologist and music journalist based in Dortmund: Music from France—such as that of Camille Saint-Saëns—works by W. A. Mozart or Franz Liszt, and little-known and rediscovered music from India, Russia, Switzerland, and Hungary. Questions of music education also play a role.
Dr. Burkhard Sauerwald teaches music and Latin as a high school teacher and is a lecturer at the Music Institute of the Technical University of Dortmund; Dr. Klaus Oehl teaches music history and musicology there as a senior academic advisor.
Dortmund Papers on Music Education and Musicology, Vol. 9, 452 pp., €49.90, paperback, ISBN 978-3-643-15817-8
