Music Journalism and Music Education
Welcome!
Through a unique combination of musicology and journalism, students explore music in the media and learn to report on it—for radio, TV, print, online, and social media. In the process, students engage with a wide variety of musical genres and styles. Whether it’s classical or hyperpop, jazz or metalcore—every genre has a place here. In addition, students receive artistic training, including instrumental and vocal lessons.

Information About Starting Your Studies
Our bachelor’s program has two admission requirements: passing an aptitude test and providing proof of an internship. The aptitude test consists of an audition in your major as well as an introductory interview. Bachelor's and Master's Degrees
The bachelor’s program in “ Music Journalism and Music Education” and the master’s program in “Music Journalism” aim to help students understand, critically examine, journalistically present, and research musical cultural phenomena. Through the collaboration between the Institute for Music and Musicology and the renowned Institute for Journalism, students learn both the practical and theoretical skills required in both fields.
