Dortmund, June 9–12, 2022: Camille Saint-Saëns (1835–1921) – Past and Future

The Institute for Music and Musicology and the Camille Saint-Saëns Research Center, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Michael Stegemann, are organizing the third of these three symposia in June 2022. The symposium will focus on reviewing the role that the composer and his body of work played in their time, taking stock of current editions and interpretations of his works, and examining the questions, tasks, and projects on which research on Saint-Saëns is currently focused and will continue to focus in the coming years.

Dortmund, June 9–12, 2022: Camille Saint-Saëns (1835–1921) – The Past and the Future

The Institute of Music and Musicology, together with the Camille Saint-Saëns Research Center under the direction of Prof. Dr. Michael Stegemann, will host the final of this series of three symposia in June 2022. Its aim is to reflect on the role that the composer and his work played during their time. To this end, the symposium will include a survey of current editions and interpretations, providing an opportunity to examine the questions, objectives, and projects on which research on Saint-Saëns is currently focused and will continue to focus in the coming years.
