Summer School in Music Education

The Summer School in Music Education is an annual event that offers music education students from various universities the opportunity to connect with one another and work together on exciting projects over the course of four intensive days. It was founded by the North Rhine-Westphalia State Working Group on Music Education and has been held every summer since 2015 at a different location, in cooperation with all music colleges and universities in North Rhine-Westphalia. The thematic focus varies each year: in 2018, the focus was on music theater; in 2019, the theme “Inventing Music” challenged participants’ creativity; and in 2020, workshops were held on the currently much-discussed topic of “Music and Media.”
