Module Exams
INFO
INFO
If you wish to take module exams or partial assessments in music after the current semester, please note the following regulations. Remember to speak with your examiners at least four weeks in advance (and before registering for exams).
Deadlines and Dates
- Oral and practical exams from October 5 to 9, 2026
- Exam dates will be announced in the respective courses
- Pre-registration with the Exam Administration (online) by September 15, 2026
- Registration in BOSS by September 16, 2026, or two weeks before the exam if it is earlier
Registration Process
There is a three-step registration process: First, please always speak with your preferred primary examiners. For practical exams, these are usually the instructors who teach your classes; for oral exams, they are the full-time faculty members in the department to which the module belongs. You can often choose between different people.
After that, please contact me so that the dates can be scheduled. There is an online form for this here:
https://moodle.tu-dortmund.de/course/view.php?id=58671
The registration password is “musikprüfung.”
This form is only intended to ensure we have all the necessary information for scheduling. Once everything has been arranged, you should finally register officially in BOSS. To register for the exam, please sign up in BOSS no later than two weeks before the respective exam date. If you can’t (yet) find your desired exam in BOSS, please let me know briefly, and I’ll have it added.
In exceptional cases, such as for important study-related reasons (e.g., a semester abroad, internships, etc.) or if the primary examiners have no other option, individual dates outside of exam week may also be arranged. Please speak with the examiners first and suggest specific dates whenever possible.
If you need to withdraw from an exam, please do so in BOSS through the Central Exam Administration (with a doctor’s note if necessary; see the information there) AND notify us—simply by email.
