Berlin schläft ein
Berlin schläft ein (“Berlin Falls Asleep”) is an artistic and cultural experiment organized by the State Music Council. As part of this initiative, lullabies are collected, archived, and made available to the public. The goal is to promote singing within families and to preserve cultural heritage.
The reason for the cooperation between the Berlin Ethnological Museum (Humboldt Forum), the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation Chair at Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin), and the Endangered Languages Archive at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities was “The Instrument of the Year 2025”: the Human Voice.
